Stocktwits raises $800,000

"Stocktwits, an information service for investments that lets investors track conversations about stocks on Twitter, has raised $800,000 in a first round from True Ventures. Roger Ehrenberg's IA Capital Partners lead the round, with other investors including Betaworks, Fox Business pundit Eric Bolling, Wallstrip founder Howard Lindzon, World Series champ pitcher Todd Stottlemyre, and Marketwatch cofounder Bill Bishop. The company says that Stocktwits will remain free although it is also preparing to charge for a new, premium offering."
